"Mind" Your Classes While States "Mining" New Tax Sources
Since the start of this recession, many states have been struggling with huge budget gaps, which led many of them to agressively levy sales tax on more and more services, including mind-body practices like Tai Chi, Qigong and Yoga.

Matt Bell, who holds a MBA and is the Director of Business and Public Relations at ATCQA, takes a close look at what rationales that some states used to try to impose the sales tax on Tai Chi, Qigong or Yoga and what were the reasons that some states decided to exempt these classes from the sales tax. Based on the analysis, he shows how you, as a Tai Chi or Qigong teacher, can "mind" your classes to protect them from being "mined" by your state as a new tax source.
