What is Tai Chi?

Tai Chi (pronounced as Tie-Chee), also called Tai Chi Chuan, is a mind-body exercise that originated in China over 1,000 years ago. When Tai Chi is being practiced, three components are working together: movements, meditation and deep breathing. The movements are a series of gentle postures flowing slowing and smoothly from one to another.

Doing Tai Chi does not require any special clothes or equipment. It can be done indoors or outdoors, either alone or in a group.
